Teen High School Problems - Issues At School
There are many things at high school that a teen would consider problematic. Some of the things bothering teens could range from their teachers to a bully. One of the main things you need to do is talk to your teen on a regular basis and figure out what types of issues they are dealing with. When a teen is growing up there is nothing more important to them in life than their friends. Make sure you know who your teen is hanging around because the type of friends your child is with the more they will follow what the group does. Peer pressure is a major problem when it comes to troubled teens getting in trouble and having problems at school.
If you look at the media today there are many different instances where young teens bring guns to school and shoot their classmates. This is a serious problem and should not be taken lightley. Almost all of the young teen shooters were young males who got picked on and bullied. Also, thousands of other teens who face major problems in high school have committed suicide to get away from the depression they were feeling.
There are many things you can do as a parent if you suspect your teen is having issues or problems while attending high school. We have compiled a list you can try when determining if your teen is at-risk.
- No friends and like to be alone
- Change in clothes or hair due. Usually black or crazy colored hair
- Doesn't participate in the activities they used to like
- Grades are slipping
- Doing drugs or drinking alcohol
These are a minor list but you need to not underestimate a problem your teen is having while attending school. Ask your teen to sit down and talk about certain problems. See if they will allow you to do your best at helping them change. If you teen won't discuss it with you and continues on a path that could cause danger to themselves and other people.
