Finding jobs for teens can be quite hectic. This is mainly attributable to the fact that teens have less experience and education as opposed to their adult counterparts. However, this does not mean they cannot find jobs; they certainly can, provided that they are searching for it in the right way. There are some things they need to know before they go about looking for a job. Firstly, teens aged 13 cannot work before 7:00am and after 7:00p.m, which leaves them with pretty limited time, especially when they are full-time students. They cannot work for more than one hour before school and more than two hours on any school day. Besides this, they are allowed to work for a maximum of two hours after going to school.
Teenagers aged 14 and 15 are also subject to similar restrictions, although the 16 and 17 year olds may enjoy a bit more freedom. They usually do not have any time restrictions as long as they are not involved in some hazardous work. Teenagers have a lot of options to choose from, such as, working at a local shop, working in riding stables, washing cars, babysitting or simply working from home. However, teens must be cautious to avoid working in unsafe conditions; such as the kitchen of some random fast-food chain, at a night-club, cinema, and delivery of milk in glass bottles as well as the job of collecting money from houses.
The most viable option for teens is to find jobs in a restaurant. A restaurant offers safe working environments to teenagers as well as gives them sufficiently safe working conditions. Besides this, the teenager also receives hands-on experience in the food industry, therefore gaining valuable knowledge for their future. Working with animals is also deemed as a popular choice amongst teenagers.
Teenagers who work with animals also receive crucial training, especially if they aspire to become a veterinarian one day. If they join a pet grooming shop, they mainly deal with bathing, feeding, and grooming the animals. This option is also great for a teenager who loves animals. Teens can also consider finding jobs in the supermarket. It can be a very fulfilling job experience for those teens that cherish local malls, and other stores such as Wal-Mart. Teens can also look for other options which they like best.
